What is "The Unofficial Mortal Kombat 3 Page"? It is a very small piece of the Internet that contains everything there is to know about the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie. Yes, movie. Why didn't I call it Mortal Kombat: Domination? Because that is not the title. The title "Domination" came from a late 1990's MK fanfic that got mixed up with talks of a new Mortal Kombat movie. This site is not based off of any fan-made projects (MK: A new Dawn, MK: Requiem of Dragons). This site is here to give you the inside scoop on the next Mortal Kombat movie--
Welcome.
Interviews and Chat Transcripts

I will not post the full interviews and chats here as none have been solely geared towards MK3, so I just took parts out of various interviews and transcripts that involved MK3. Excerpts are listed in chronological order. Interviews were not done by me.

What? John Medlen (Ermac of MK:A) interview at MovieWeb. When? May 2006. Originally found here:
Q: What are you currently working on? What’s next?
A: I’m scheduled to do Mortal Kombat 3. That doesn’t have a start date. The producer Larry Kasanoff, he’s pushing for his other animation feature, it’s computer animated called Foodfight!. I think that’s the first thing on the list. And then when the right time happens, Mortal Kombat will kick in.
Q: I know that you were in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Will you be acting in Mortal Kombat 3 or just doing stunt coordinating?
A: That hasn’t been determined yet. When the time comes, depending on how much I have to deal with, as far as coordinating and if I’m going to second unit direct. That’s gonna be a very busy show because I think they’re running simultaneously, first and second units just because of the way they want to schedule it. So it’s gonna be very busy. Of course I’d love to perform, just for having a good time... so I’m hoping it happens but I’m not gonna be disappointed if it doesn’t.

What? Chris Casmassa interview over at MK Outworld. When? January 2006. Originally found here:
Q: First off, Threshold are taking a long time to announce any shooting dates, cast updates etc. Is there any reason for this that you are aware of? and is there any new info on the production you could tell us?
A: Nothing new to tell - Hurricane Katrina set us back a few months.

What? Linden Ashby Interview at TV Guide's Soaps Site. When? June 13, 2004:
Q: And is it official that you're set to star in Mortal Kombat 3?
A: I have been talking to the producers for the past month or so pretty intensely, and they say we are set to go. I'll be reprising my role as Johnny Cage. It's supposed to start shooting this summer.
What? Linden Ashby Interview at CBS Soaps Site. When? June 13, 2004. Originally found here:
Despite the aches and pains, though, Ashby isn’t about to call it quits. In fact, he recently talked with the producers of Mortal Combat about doing a third installment. "I’ll fight to save mankind. Battle evil," he chuckles. "Good will triumph… Now I just need to be ready!"

What? Josh Wexler (worker at Threshold Entertainment) snippet at E3. When? May 13, 2004:
(Talked to by ]{ombat) In regards to Threshold's 'legal troubles', Josh commented that 'The delay was not because of any legal troubles between Threshold and New Line, but because of Midway's change in management' (not a direct quote, but that's what he said).
What? Marjean Holden (Sheeva in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation) Interview at MK Center. When? May 2, 2004. Originally found here:
-Marv- You saw Robin.. maybe you know any rumors or maybe facts about upcoming third MK movie? Maybe you could give us away something?
-MarjeanHolden- No news on a 3rd MK. people always ask us this question, and none of us have any idea. Including Robin. noone has said anything to him about it.

What? Ridley Tsui (Smoke in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation) Interview at MK Center. When? January 25, 2004. Originally found here:
MK Center: Is there a third mortal kombat film in the works?
Ridley Tsui: I heard they are working on MK3 at the moment.

What? Drew McWeeny (Co-writer of MK3) e-mail to me. When? January 24, 2004:
I have no idea if the film will be made or not. At one point, it was a priority for Threshhold Entertainment, and that was before MK:DA became a hit or MKVI was released.

That said, MK:DA was a hit, and if our film resembles any of the source material in particular, it's that game. I'd say there's a good chance they're still planning to make it, especially since it sounds like they have worked out all their previous problems.

When I worked on it, it went through many different names. MK3 was always the working title we went back to. I don't think they've decided yet what they want to call it.

What? Drew McWeeny (Co-writer of MK3) e-mail to me. When? January 21, 2004:
Hey, Cory...

I have to tread lightly here for contractual reasons.

I can tell you that in 2001, I was contracted with my writing partner to write MORTAL KOMBAT 3. We wrote several drafts of it at that point.

As I understand it, Threshhold has been dealing with legal rights issues for the two years since.

Word is, they're untangling those rights now finally and plan to move forward with the film. I seriously doubt we'll be doing any further work on it at this point, and I'm not sure what script they'll finally put in front of the camera.

Hope that helps some.

Drew McWeeny

UGO: There's a third Mortal Kombat movie in the works. Are you involved in that at all?
JW: Yeah, we're producing it!
UGO: Can you talk about it at all?
JW: Absolutely not! (laughs) I can just tell you that we're going to reinvent the fighting genre. You're going to see fights like you've never seen before.

-Is the script really in the works, or finished?
-KL - finished.
*script is complete for a while now.
-Is Mortal Kombat 3 really in production, and what actors are confirmed?
-KL - not in production, and not really. Talking to lots of actors, no one is officially signed. Some actors have a 3 film option, but honestly no one is attached. If I was a betting man, which I am, I would say the only actor(s) you can bet on to be in this movie is Sung Hi, Red, and maybe Lambert.
*most likely to be in: Red (Jax in MK:A), Lambert (Rayden in MK: The Movie), Sung Hi Lee (Kiri in MKC)
*nobody hired yet, no scenes shot
-KL: "If any new characters make it to the next movie, I guarantee it'll be Kenshi."
*Kenshi fans - good odds your blind soul hunter is in
-quote by KL: "Since Quan-Chi was responsible for the detah of Scorpion's family, I think it would be cool if Sub-Zero and Scorpion teamed up to take on Quan-Chi. The alliance of Scorpion and Sub-Zero would be unbeatable." Next post - "In my last post I stated about Scorpion and Sub-Zero teaming up. As well as Quan Chi being the bad guy, either Scorpion or Sub-Zero could turn on each other with one of them finally dying. I have mentioned in another post that they accidentally kill eahc other, another scenario would be one to kill the other on purpose.". Was he saying how it is, or how he'd like it... Take that and other info and then, make a guess.
*possible plot around diversed alliance (not another DA...;) between Sub-Zero and Scorpion?
-KL: "And, you shouldn't trust a site that calls MK a sci-fi movie. I'd say because there probably won't be any automated ninjas in the movie, it's more fantasy then anything. Don't you agree, or am I getting carried away?"
*most likely no robots.
*it will likely be about Sub-Zero, which was hinted by KL: "Subby's a good pick." Plus during a chat with Joshua Wexler, some "looney" went about saying how he knew it was going to be about Subby. Add that to the fact MKDA's story wasn't done by the time the script was, and that they had already used Shinnok (MK4), and that he was closely related to the game MKMythologyes, Sub-Zero... it seems like the only way. MK people are known to hear fans' voices and Sub-Zero is popular. All this together makes me belive that Sub-Zero will be the main character, and the game will be based on MK: Mythologies (even though not 100%, movies don't follow the exact same story). Add to the plot the part I quoted earlyer, about Sub-Zero and Scorpion, or the quote below about Smoke...
-quote: "I think it would be a good idea if Sub-Zero helped turn Smoke back into a human and then have them go after the Lin Kuei for truning Smoke into a robot." - KL. Smoke died in MK:A, so... I wouldn't count on it being a revealing.
*it will be named Devastation. "If it gets made, it'll be a more "devastating" name..." - KL. More specificly... KL:"Devastation". After a while, it was repeated in the same topic: "Uh...hello? DEVASTATION."
*Liu will NOT be the one to die. This was most strictly confirmed, a few times. I'd say sorry people, but I'd be laughing, because I like him as the champion.
*he also said he wouldn't count on Shou being on it. And as reppy_reps said, Shou filled his 3-movies-contract.
*he confirmed, there will be a female Sub-Zero.
