It comes to me from word of mouth that Robin Shou is said to have been casted in a role in the rumored Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. In other news, Raul Julia turns in his grave.

Nooooooooo! Not wanting a street fighter film- an MK one first- I want the MK film to have fatalities in it this time- robin shou will Always be Liu Kang to me and 4 that we love him.

Kristen Kruek(sp?), as far as I know, is Chung Li. She’s Lana Lang in Smallville.
I’m kinda wondering, where in the SF continuity is this movie taking place anyway?

Want to say thankyou to the guy who keeps this site going for so long and always letsus know if there is any news to report on the new mortal kombat movie, we are all desperate to hear more about it ACTUALLY happening and some filming starting already, so thanks for this and lets just hope some mortal kombat movie making happens real soon…

they don’t even have a script, let alone a cast, some footage filmed, or a release date!
so it’s going to be at least another 18 months

I am a big fan of all the Mortal Kombat stuff like the movie i love and the games i love them so much (liu kang is my fav.) i hope this next movie is going to top the others which it should and id love to see some fatalities in the movie that would be great well thank you

I just find it insane that there isn’t any news yet on the MK script being completed yet and would like to hear something solid about the movie and I totally agree with The Cool Fella that there should be a scorpion v/s sub zero fight.

This makes me crazy. They are currently making a Tekken movie, a Street Fighter movie, and a Dragonball Z movie. NONE of those franchises are nearly as popular or as awesome as Mortal Kombat. I don’t understand what’s wrong with the world. Check out THE TOURNAMENT… J.J. Perry (Scorpion/Cyrax in Annihilation) has a part in it, and I think it’s the closest thing to MK we’re going to be seeing soon. Search for the promo trailer on YouTube… it looks sweet.

Actually AJ those franchises belong overseas, so there’s gonna to be a bigger fanbase for them. Mortal Kombat is solely american. As much a new MK movie would be awesome, those international names will grab first spot.

Oh and AJ i agree with ya on the comment about none of them comparing upto the mortal kombat and thats a fact i think but i do like tekken, street fighter and dragon ball Z but MK still smashes them all

i dont know that much about mk but i do like the movies and i use to always play that game on sega mega drive and dishing out a fatality was my favourite bit of the game so i really hope that they incorporate some sort of fatality into the movie cos that would be awesome

I’m from the UK and Mortal Kombat is big over here and I have some friends from poland and spain who know and are obsessed with playing mortal kombat I am not interested in any other film being made other than the new Final destination 4 and the new mortal kombat kombat although FD4 has already started filming and is set for an early 2009 release and mortal kombat is always still in script development
I am really looking forward to the new mk v/s dc comics game later this year but want mk9 to be back to normal and the film to have no connection to dc!

I can think of a number of reasons, the biggest being that Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter are more or less rivals, and the idea that the guy who played Liu Kang in (a much better movie) Mortal Kombat is suddenly in Street Fighter…. That, and if your last movie was the original SF, wouldn’t you be unable to rest in peace?

Well, I’ve been “tracking” the progress of “upcomming” films which I would like to see. Mortal Kombat being one of them. And to be honest, ONLY MK’s progress is STAYING EXACTLY the same for who knows how long. I’m starting to doubt that there will even BE a new movie.

Robin shou is great esspecially when he fought kai in mk1 with kai also with sticks.Dont retire and dont do street fighter that game is old play mk!

Where is the new NK movie then? I have been waiting for so long now, How long can it take to complete a script seriously! I feel like I’m wasting my time getting my hopes up all of these years and yet there is still no officiall progress- it is unfair on me and the movie fans to wait so long and hear so little, if I am to remain a loyal MK Fan as I have so for the past 10 years I would only ask for one movie and thats all I ask in return for my 10 years of mk loyalty-respect and devotion, I couldn’t bear having anticipated this movie for 10 years or so only to find out on imdb in 2010 that the script is still being re-written, Ed boon-Mink-threshold and midway and anyone else involved- please sort out the new mk movie- I am very ill and cannot afford to wait another 5 years or so for it to happen..

Sandra Goldfield drive down in a Jeep. She and her German Sherpard are in near-exhaustion by the heatwave. The Jeep stops innediately at a Gas Station.
Paradise Palm
8 adults wake up inside a building, not knowing who they are or where they are at or why they are even there in the first place. They each have identifications of their own as they discover this later on.
As each person discovers more about how they ended up there, they run into each other from time to time with their own agendas in mind.
Katie, one of the main characters, discovers that they are on one of the floors of a skyscaper as a few others are slowly but surely going insane thereafter.
They tried breaking the windows, but nothing works. Instead they become discouraged and slowly slip into dispair overtime.
They tried to open the main entrances on the first floor, but still no use.
The elevators are working. The lights are on. Running water. About everything works.
Suki wakes up to discover that she doesn’t remember anything at all.
Suki trails off to discover the basement. She finds insignificant items as she searches around, being bored.
Suki discovers a hallway with an elevator that leads into a room with another hallway that is control by some-mysterious 17-keycard slots.
Lisa wakes to what sounds like gunfire. She doesn’t know anything at that moment in time. At some time later, Lisa finds out by accident that the skyscaper has a state-of-the-art security system that consists of high-tech booby-traps with obscured puzzles and an arsenal of militaristic-only weaponry.
Jane wakes to discover that she has steams of fibers stuck in an area of her flesh. She removes the fibers and the cuts heal overtime, and she wonders why she woke up with wires stuck in her at times. Jane discovers that her real name is Barbara eventually.
Jane recalls a populated desert-like place she refers to as “Paradise Palm”, unlike the one she woke up in. As more of she memory comes back, Jane becomes even more unsettled by the strangeness of the situation everybody happens to be in.
Jennifer watches the outside world, and she happens to be discovered by Adam on the top floor. She watches the sunset on a daily basis. She also likes to watch the population down below in the streets on occasions. Jennifer and a few others seems to be the only one at ease at times.

All they have is five TV sets with antennas and some VHS tapes.
Jake is discovers by Melissa as she enters a floor. Jake recalls a bit of his memory back overtime, and finds out that he is related to Katie. He seems to never tell Katie about what he recalls.
David wakes in an office on one of the middle floors. Nothing is much revealed except that he is a phone operator.
Melissa wakes up outside on the top piller of the skyscaper. Nothing is much revealed.
“It sounds like a setup” “We had lives once” “Like the people out there” “Like the ones in the streets” “Like the ones in the streets below”
Vanessa wakes up in one of the elevators. She seems to have no memory recall. Vanessa remembers a place that she calls home.
As the isolation continues throught the times, some of them start to show signs of psychosis.
Some of them starts seeing apparitions appear on occasions, as well as dreams of people and things.
As more of the memories comes back to them, the more distant the outside world appears to them.
Katie eventually discovers crystals up and down the many dozens of floors. She is hoping to save the crystals for when they find a way out that she can become rich and live her entire life hassle-free as a multi-billionaire.
“What is Time?” “Blood” “What is this red stuff?” “It doesn’t seem to come off” “It doesn’t come off” “The window won’t break” “Nothing is working!” “Nothing works!” “It is useless” “It won’t come off” “It does not come off”
They eventually find more secret pathways to other rooms, hallways, elevators, and stairways.
Overtime more than several earthquakes occurs.
Jason wakes up in an open vault with ex-amount of gold bricks inside. It seems he has no memory to recall.
Eventually they find a few cellphones. They also find a few wacky-talkies. The cellphones are no good because of how the building was constructed.
Suki later discovers that she is a technician.
Jennifer later discovers that she is a financial advisor.
Jake discovers overtime that he might happen to be an agent working alongside the Royal Thai government and its Thai army.
Lisa discovers that she is a fugitive who happened to hack into government websites to sell top-secret materials overseas.
Adam discovers a see-through-yellow, thin-soft keycard inside a back pocket of his pants at a later time.
“A card of some sort” “Could it be my own?” “Who am I?” “Who am I, really?” “A wallet” “What is this?” “What’s this here” “Adam Connelly” “I found out that my real name is Adam” “Look” “Adam Connelly” “That is what I look like” “That is my picture” “My picture”
Randy wakes up to discover that he is alone in one of the floors with an assault cannon nearby. He recalls later on that the assault cannon belongs illegally to him. Randy also recalls a lot of adults and children at a beach somewhere in dreams on occasions. Randy dies during a severe earthquake at a later time.
Melissa recalls that she may be a runaway, as does Vanessa at a later time.
Steve wakes to discover a mk-19 grenade launcher and a M-16 on him. Later on, he finds out that he has a late-wife named Vanessa with twins. Steve discovers that he is a clerk at a later time.
Adam wakes up to discover that he obtains a ring of keys. He has bizarre remembrances of the Gulf War, as well as joining the Ku Klux Klan. Jake slowly recalls a bit about his home and school life at a later time.
They find more people as time passes on.
They discover obscured clues to finding the way out of the building.
At some moment in time later, they discover that Time itself is against them as a digital counter counts down.
